Hello guys. I am Akshay Kumar Pansari and I have decided to write a newsletter each week. I read so many things each week and come across a lot of new stuff. I just wanted a platform to share these with my friends so that we all learn from it.
Quote which I liked…
So recently I was reading Warikoo’s newsletter. There was one quote which I really liked.
Do not blame yourself. Because the world will do that any way for you!
The context was whenever he get any mail, people used to start the mail like this
- I know this will sound dumb, but…
- This will come across as so stupid, but…
- I am so sorry for saying this , but…
We don’t need to apologize to anyone for our own feelings and opinions. Just be direct and here their opinion :)
Book I am reading this week…
I have started reading this great book called The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman.
This book reminded me of my college textbooks where I used to study with patience understanding thing at a slower pace than usual.
I am pretty much getting a lot great insights and always questioning myself what could have been done better in the design of say smartphones, gas stove (yes!!) and even my bathroom shower.
The most important thing to note is if you are not able to use certain things intuitively, then it is not be your fault. This might be designer’s fault to not design it properly.
Song which I liked…
Lasting Lover by James Arthur and Sigala
Video Recommendation…
I didn’t watch many videos this week. So I will go with Youtube Channels recommendations.
VSauce, CGP Grey and Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell.
Sports…
This week I was shocked to see the defeat of Rafael Nadal. But Djokovic totally deserved it.
And pretty excited to watch the Euro 2021 too.
In F1 - this season is giving a lot of surprises and let’s see what happens in the next game.
Cricket - World Cup Championship is coming and I think New Zealand will have an upper hand over India. Still it will be a great game to watch.
Next Week Plans…
I will be sending a newsletter every week. And I wish that I will be able to interact with you learn from you people. Till then BYE
